Biography

(I’m trying to find a decent photo of myself to put here…ironic I know)

Paul Lincoln

Growing up surrounded by the Kentish countryside, my father was a keen amateur photographer. He would develop negatives in his makeshift darkroom (the bathroom) then take me out to discover more scenes to capture on his Praktica SLR. I loved being out in nature, and just as the sights, smells and sounds enveloped and enchanted me, so my passion to capture these idyllic moments grew.

As entry-level digital cameras became affordable, I couldn’t wait to try this new way of taking pictures with the promise of quicker and much cheaper images. Keen to immerse myself further into photography I completed a bachelors degree in digital photography where I finessed my practical skills whilst learning more about the artistic history and wider cultural significance of photography.

After graduation I set up as a successful wedding and portrait photographer.
After fulfilling a life-long dream and moving to the West Country in 2012, I discovered many people would enjoy heading out into the South West to learn a little more about taking great photos, which brings us to today and where you can join the adventure.

Teaching photography is a fantastically rewarding and enjoyable experience and I hope you can join us.
